Saucy Dotty’s Gourmet Sauce (Northumberland)

Dotty has been a client of the Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN) and the Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC) food processing facility in Colborne for many years.

From beginning recipe development stages to final production and packaging. Dotty began accessing BECN services to plan her business, continued with the Faster Forward Business Success Program, and connects with the BECN for regular consultations to check-in and discuss next steps to grow.

Saucy Dotty Gourmet Sauce products can be found in over 50 retail locations across southern Ontario and is continuously growing her brand and business. She has just recently graduated from the OAFVC, where she now has her own storefront with a production facility located in Brighton. Dotty has expanded her online presence to add product e-commerce to her website. Over the past couple of years, Saucy Dotty’s Gourmet Sauce has expanded by adding 2 employees and has expanded the product line by adding additional flavours, product sizes, and distributes to larger product users like restaurants.

Dotty is continuously expanding by sourcing other retailers to carry her products. At Dotty’s age, there is no stopping her and her dream to continue her family’s secret recipe, and it all started with a tour of the OAFVC to turn her idea and dream into a successful growing business.
